About Our Staff
Connie So has been teaching Suzuki cello in the Kansas City area since 1999. She graduated high school in 1992 with honors from the Idyllwild Arts Academy in Idyllwild, California where she played in the orchestra under direction of Jung Ho Pak and studied cello with studio musician, John Walz.
During her college years, Mrs. So attended The University of Kansas in Lawrence and studied with Edward Laut. She also played in the Topeka Symphony Orchestra from 1996-1998 under the direction of John Strickler.
After finishing her B.M. in Cello Performance at the University of Kansas in 1998, Mrs. So had a strong desire to work with young children and started Suzuki teacher training with Jean Dexter. Through the years she has also had training with Carol Tarr, Nancy Hair and Pamela Devenport. She has completed all levels of training (PT-Bk10). She also has had the honor of teaching at the Lawrence Suzuki Talent Education String studio with Eleanor Allen in Lawrence, Kansas from 2000-2007.
Connie So currently resides in Grandview Missouri with her husband Kim and their two daughters. She teaches students at her home studio in Grandview, as well as in Ottawa. In her spare time, Mrs. So enjoys scrapbooking, reading, watching movies and riding roller coasters!
