OSI Mid-Southwest 2017
June 4th-June 9th
The OSI Mid-Southwest summer institute is for Suzuki-trained string students of all levels, including Pre-Twinkle, parents, and teachers.

Young people and their parents alike find Institute a great place to exchange musical ideas with one another and to generate excitement about playing. All individual class schedules include daily small-group private lessons and group playing classes. Other theory and ensemble classes are assigned by playing ability. Also popular are electives such as fiddling, drama, and bell choir. During the daily parent lectures, kids get a chance to relax during relaxation.
Parents may register for classes, too. A Parent Seminar allows parents to take a fresh look at creative approaches to working successfully with their children, and a parent playing class is available for those who choose to work on their own violin or viola playing skills.
This year, parents have the special opportunity of enrolling in a teacher course, What Every Musician Should Know About the Body, to learn about how a musician uses their body and to learn about injury prevention.
In honor of Suzuki tradition, participate in graduation during Summer Institutes.
